A southwest road trip is not complete without going to Monument Valley – a place that John Wayne made famous in his western movies. I had to go! And it became one of the highlights of this trip. I hope you enjoy the memories that I captured below.

Arriving in the afternoon, I drove the dirt road through the valley.

Although bumpy at times, the views were amazing.

You can stop to take a selfie roaming in the wild west!

A picture is worth a thousand words … I couldn’t believe this is where I called my backyard for the night.

Good thing about camping here is that you do not need to walk far to get a good sunrise shot.

Once awake, I HAD to get my classic photo down this road (happy to say that I wasn’t the only one blocking traffic).

Seeing the monuments up close and personal on this well maintained trail.

One of my favorite shots from this trail.

My stomach was in for a treat after the stroll by filling up with traditional Navajo soup. My travel companion was very envious.

Next morning, I was reluctant to leave this backyard.
These photos were only a small fraction of the experience. I sincerely hope you get to capture your own memories here!
